Abstract: Alert to the myth of his hometown, Ng Kim Chew jumps out of the homesickness of “three thousand miles of the homeland” and the outcast mentality of “where the hometown is,” and points to the Malaysian Chinese ethnic group, with a solid local identity and affectionate local writing, the deep cultural psychology of the descendants–removing the charm of “Nostalgia Utopia” like leaves taking roots wherever they fall. From the reproduction of Nanyang scenery to the retrospection of cultural psychology, from the revitalization of Chinese literature to the reshaping of the family and national imagination, Ng Kim Chew, as a representative of the new generation, has actively revolutionized Malay-Chinese literature, showing a pioneering attitude that is resolutely different from those of the previous generation and the middle generation, and boldly reengineering the writing techniques and expressive contents while adhering to the regional writing and reshaping the cultural psyche, thus attaining achievements that cannot be neglected in the transformation to modernity of Malay-Chinese literature.
