Abstract: Xi Jinping's Global Civilization Initiative is a major theoretical achievement of Xi Jinping Thought on Culture. Embodying the unity of inheritance and innovation, nationality and cosmopolitanism, and science and practicality, this Initiative has distinct theoretical characteristics that, based on the civilizational dilemma brought about by the conflict logic of capitalist civilization, the challenges of civilizational evolution driven by digital technology, and the aspiration of people worldwide for a better life, has creatively answered the questions of why, what kind and how to reconstruct global civilization. Its contributions are, from theoretical construction to practical implementation, manifested not only in the innovative development of Marxist civilization theory–thus surpassing the Western-centric civilization narrative–but also in guiding the theoretical innovation of a new form of human civilization.
