Abstract: Verse or prose, folk literature is presented in language and its text research, consequently, is linguistic research to a large extent. Studying folk literature from linguistic perspective, like studying general linguistics, can depart from four aspects: phonetics, semantics, grammar, and words. Many current theories and methods regarding folk literature studies can be, as a matter of fact, categorized as sub-fields of linguistics.
