从谢榛“意随笔生”说看《诗家直说》一书的性质——兼论辞前意、辞后意与言意之关系

A Study on the Nature of Shi Jia Zhi Shuo with Xie Zhen's Poetic Theory — On Notions of Pre- and Post-Word Meanings and the Relationship between Word and Meaning

摘要: “意在笔先”本从书画理论中来,唐人引入诗文中,宋人着力倡言,元明后盛行诗坛。然而,明人谢榛在其诗话著作《诗家直说》中极力揭橥“意随笔生”之说,并提出“辞前意”“辞后意”等完善这一说法。事实上,意在笔先或随笔而生,本是文学创作的两种方式,二者皆在于揭示言与意之间的关系和表达,可以并行不悖且互为补充而非截然对立。是以在一定程度上,《诗家直说》可视为是一部谢榛以切身写诗经验深度阐释“意随笔生”说,以期能为他人提供指导、参考的诗法著述。

Abstract: An idea of the artists and calligraphers first borrowed by the Tang poetic theorists, the theory “plot before the pen”was advocated in the Song Dynasties and began to thrive in the Yuan and Ming Dynasties. However, a new theory–theme along with the pen–aiming at improving it was proposed by poetic theorist Xie Zhen in the Ming Dynasty that introduced notions such as “pre-word meaning” and “post-word meaning”. In fact, developing the plot and/or the theme either before or along with the pen is just the same literary creation process from two approaches that can coexist and even complement each other because both agree in revealing the relationship and expression between the word and the meaning. Therefore, to a certain extent, Shi Jia Zhi Shuo can be regarded as an in-depth explanation of Xie Zhen's own experience in writing poems to manifest the theory that “theme comes along writing”, so as to provide guidance and reference for other poets
