Abstract: “Applying academic approaches to politics” is a form of positive interaction between academic means and political ends, an important method to realize “unity between politicality and academic rationality”, and a necessary demand of the direction and innovation of reform of university ideology and politics courses. To teach topic-specific university ideology and politics courses through “academic approaches to politics”, it is imperative that a teaching system be constructed that comprises the following six componenetsguidance, basis, leadership, support, key elements and guarantee.
