On Revolutionary Publicity of Yunnan’s Local CPC Organizations during the War of Liberation

Abstract: During the War of Liberation (1946-1950), Yunnan’s local organizations of the Chinese Communist Party (CPC) did a good job of revolutionary publicity among the mass centering around the central tasks of the Party. The publicity focus shifted according to the time, sizes of organizations and population devoted kept increasing, the publicity momentum incessantly scaled up, and the media employed were multiple. More than spurring democratic movements in the urban areas and laying an ideological foundation for armed struggle against the counterrevolutionary KMT regime, such publicity rallied people of all ethnic groups of Yunnan to take part in the revolution, effectively isolated the counterrevolutionary KMT forces led by Chiang Kai-shek, and laid a solid mass foundation for the liberation of Yunnan Province.
