Abstract: To understand the effect of water on ferns in garden management, artificial water control was used to produce arid environment for the study of leaf relative water content, chlorophyll content, transpiration rate, malondialdehyde content and soluble sugar content changes in physiological indicators. Result: Under the drought conditions of these three ferns, the relative water content, chlorophyll content and transpiration rate decreased and the malondialdehyde content and soluble sugar content increased with the increase of days. It was found that, under the same condition and method, the ability of drought-resistance of kidney ferns was strong. The strength of the three kinds of ferns in terms of drought-resistance ability decreased in the following order: Nephrolepis auriculata (L.) Trimen > Cyclosorus interruptus (Willd.) H. Ito > Adianturn capillarus-veneris.

Key words: Drought resistence, Adianturn capillarus-veneris, Cyclosorus interruptus (Willd.) H. Ito, Nephrolepis auriculata (L.) Trimen, physiological biochemistry
