Abstract: The plague is an important object of literature and one of the most written themes by Chinese and foreign writers. Under the similar background of plague outbreak, both Bi Shumin's Corolla Virus and Camus's The Plague depict different aspects of human nature on the basis of reflection. From the perspectives of narrator, narrative focus, narrative time, and narrative scene, this article compares and analyzes the plague narrative art of the two works to explore why such works can be full of foresight into the plague while retaining humanistic aesthetic values and the spiritual power to subject individual interest to that of the greater cause.
