Abstract: By conducting a field survey on use of the Miao language and language attitude in Nuodou Village, Shilin County, Kunming, the author first presents an in-depth analysis of the current situation of language use and language attitude, then proceeds to contend that the lingual ecological environment is good and the language vitality is strong before further interpreting the reasons underlying preservation and development tendency of the Miao language in the aforesaid village.
