Food in Tourism: Observing Food Experiences in Student Exchange Programs-A Case Study of Japanese Students in a Summer Camp in Yanbian

Abstract: Food plays an increasingly important role in tourism and is a necessity or a kind of tourism resource in all types of tourism. According to the different levels of tourists' demands for food, different forms of food tourism are shaped. This paper takes food as an indispensable experience element in tourism activities from the perspective of foreigners visiting Yanbian. Participation, observation and in-depth interviews were conducted on the food experience process of the tourists to explore how the expected food impression changes after the actual experience and how it affects the satisfaction of food experience and the expected destination image.
