Abstract: The Communist Party of China (CPC) led people of all ethnic groups of Chuxiong to a victorious revolution, fully achieving their goals of standing up to be their own masters and enjoying political equality to their legitimate rights. During 1950 and 1960, while fostering a sense of community under the leadership of the Party, people of all ethnic groups of Chuxiong continuously implemented policies towards minority ethnic groups and the system of regional national autonomy, consolidated and enhanced the splendid achievements in construction of demonstration zones of ethnic unity and progress, and strengthened the sense of mission of people of all ethnic groups to carry on construction of a modern socialist country. From the height of summing up historical experience of the decade, General Office of the People’s Committee of Chuxiong Yi Nationality Autonomous Prefecture compiled A Survey of Chuxiong Yi Nationality Autonomous Prefecture (Internal Draft) for publicity purposes in Beijing and other places. As this Internal Draft has become rarely available (especially in Chuxiong Prefecture itself), the author finds it valuable to introduce it again to ensure its dissemination.
