Abstract: As one of the defining concepts of Xi Jinping Thought on Culture, the subjectivity of Chinese culture bears the significant mission of guiding the cultural construction of socialism with Chinese characteristics. By systematically examining the theoretical connotation of the subjectivity of Chinese culture from the perspective of Xi Jinping Thought on Culture, we can uncover its four value orientations: 1) spiritual independence as the foundational value; 2) safeguarding national cultural security as the bottom-line value; 3) embracing a new cultural mission as the guiding value; and 4) achieving common spiritual prosperity as the ultimate value. Meanwhile, this concept demonstrates inherent characteristics such as the uniqueness of cultural genes at the ontological level, the continuity of civilizational inheritance in the diachronic dimension, cultural self-awareness at the subjective agency level, and strategic foresight in terms of development orientation. At this new historical juncture, the subjectivity of Chinese culture is manifested as cultural subjectivity support generated in the process of Chinese-style modernization, cultural subjectivity highlighted in the process of solidifying the consciousness of the Chinese national community, cultural subjectivity expressed in the construction of a Chinese discourse and narrative system, and cultural subjectivity affirmed in the promotion of the progress of human civilization.
