Abstract: The wave of digitalization is sweeping across global society with unprecedented breadth and depth, and digital technology has become a crucial force in shaping social cognition and reconstructing cultural exchanges among nations. Digital technology empowers forging the sense of community for the Chinese nation, forming a theoretical model of “technical materiality–social relationality–ideological nature.” This empowering process, however, faces challenges such as the risks of technological imbalance, cognitive bias and emotional alienation. To address these challenges, it is necessary to bridge the digital divide through inclusive empowerment, optimize algorithmic logic with a community-oriented approach, and build a defense of national unity in digital spaces through collaborative governance. This aims to achieve a deep coupling between digital technology and the construction of the consciousness of community for the Chinese nation, so as to promote digital technology as a powerful tool to genuinely advance unity and progress among all ethnic groups.

Key words: digital technology, sense of community for the Chinese nation, technological empowerment, digital divide, algorithm governance
