Abstract: Education provides the fundamental solution to intergenerational transmission of poverty, or even terminates poverty itself.. General Secretary Xi Jinping's important discussion on poverty alleviation through education provides the theoretical basis and action guide for China to win the tough battle against poverty in the new era. Citespace and Vosviewer are used to make visual analysis of Xi Jinping's important discussion on poverty alleviation through education. It is found that the number of annual papers is on the rise, but authors and institutions engaging in its research have not yet formed a cooperative community, and the leading role of core journals still needs to be improved. The research focuses on the formation logic, scientific connotation, theoretical characteristics and value implication of Xi Jinping's important discussion on poverty alleviation through education. The current research has weak links in content, perspective and methods, so future research should 1) cultivate the fertile soil of theoretical research to build a systematic and integrated research system; 2) pay attention to expand the research horizon to reflect the research quality with the times; and 3) pay attention to multiple research paradigms to highlight the combination of theory and practice research consciousness.
