Abstract: “Silver weighing” is an important activity in the Yi wedding ceremony, where Song of Silver Weighing is sung. Studying this ballad can enable us to understand the cultural connotation of the ceremony, demonstrate the value of the orally-transmitted literature as well as preserve and inherit intangible cultural heritage of the Yi people.
