Abstract: The domestic media and research on the cultural transformation of ethnic minority villages can be divided into two stages-germination and development-with 2000 as the junction point. Theoretically, study of media and cultural transformation of rural ethnic minorities is placed in a broader disciplinary background and, methodologically, it shifts from qualitative research methods to ethnographic survey qualitative analysis methods. In terms of research topics, the research focuses on the relationship between the media and the daily life of ethnic minorities and villages, national identity, and conceptual transformation and modernization construction. It is desirable that, in the future, the research should integrate research methods and stress case studies to draw a wholesome, mutually logic picture of the relationship between media and cultural transformation of minority villages.
