Study on the Chinese National Community
Sense of Community for the Chinese Nation in Mythology of Minority Ethnic Groups of Yunnan Interpreted
YAO Jishan, JI Hongli, SU Hong
    2022, 37(4):  1-8.
    Abstract ( 41 )   PDF (1553KB) ( 29 )
Representing the cultural gene that reflects the psychology and inheriting the spirit of a nation, mythology is a special narrative of the national historical memory and collective emotional expression. The minority ethnic groups of Yunnan are characterized by co-habitation and their mythology thus forms a multi-dimensional narrative pedigree, which is an integral part of mythology of the Chinese nation and, by recording and memorizing the historical facts regarding their inter-national exchange and brotherly relationship, affirms the sense that the Chinese nation is a family, a community. It is reasonable to argue that mythology of minority ethnic groups of Yunnan is the cultural source of their recognition of the culture of the Chinese nation in general and an important spiritual resource to consolidate the sense of community for the Chinese nation.

Review of Research on Media and the Cultural Transformation of Minority Ethnic Villages in the Past Four Decades
    LI Lianlian, LU Guogui
    2022, 37(4):  9-18.
    Abstract ( 25 )   PDF (1611KB) ( 34 )
The domestic media and research on the cultural transformation of ethnic minority villages can be divided into two stages-germination and development-with 2000 as the junction point. Theoretically, study of media and cultural transformation of rural ethnic minorities is placed in a broader disciplinary background and, methodologically, it shifts from qualitative research methods to ethnographic survey qualitative analysis methods. In terms of research topics, the research focuses on the relationship between the media and the daily life of ethnic minorities and villages, national identity, and conceptual transformation and modernization construction. It is desirable that, in the future, the research should integrate research methods and stress case studies to draw a wholesome, mutually logic picture of the relationship between media and cultural transformation of minority villages.

New Changes to Gong Zizheng’s Passionist Ideas and His Poetic Creation
    FAN Yongkang, CAI Hangyou
    2022, 37(4):  19-24.
    Abstract ( 31 )   PDF (1604KB) ( 6 )
The passionist theory of Gong Zizheng mainly included two aspects: the emotion-first concept and the child’s innocence concept. Although deriving from the ideological tradition of Li Zhi, the three Yuans of Gong’an and Yuan Mei, passionism had new contemporary connotation: advocating personal liberation, welcoming enlightenment, guiding the society and helping the people. In these ideas lay the new changes to passionism. To his poetic creation Gong Zizheng applied passionist ideas, expressing his worries for the troubled country and the people in need, thus expanding his emotions in both width and depth. Moreover Gong Zizheng voiced his rebelling spirit for personal liberation in his works. The passionist ideas of Gong Zizheng and their application to his poetry had great influence on Liang Qichao, Huang Zunxian, Liu Yazi and Lu Xun and provided significant reference for healthy development of passionist literature.

Research on Wang Yun’s Figure Painting Poetry
    WANG Jiachen
    2022, 37(4):  25-31.
    Abstract ( 15 )   PDF (1612KB) ( 4 )
In the early Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368), Wang Yun, a northern poet, wrote a large number of figure painting poems in his life, including poems eulogizing famous literati, monarchs and scholars. While revealing meaning of the paintings, these poems associate, in strong emotions, the portrayed figures with the poet himself in terms of both his desire for officialdom and intention of inner seclusion, greatly enriching the content and form of expression of the poems. Through the study of Wang Yun’s figure painting poems, which are hitherto scarcely touched upon by previous critics, we can not only see the attitude of the northern poets represented by Wang Yun towards their contemporary reality, but also see the impact of social reality on the poet's mentality and provenance choice.

On Reasons for Exclusion of Reply to Fan Qin from Selected Prose by Xiao Tong-Centering around Selected Prose of Gu Suijiang
    WANG Beibei
    2022, 37(4):  32-38.
    Abstract ( 25 )   PDF (1718KB) ( 11 )
The selection criteria of Selected Prose have always been a topic in this field and discussions on them can help us better understand Xiao Tong and his time. An analysis of the titles included in Selected Prose can shed some light on the criteria for their inclusion on both specific and profound bases. By exploring the reasons why Fan Qin’s Letter to Emperor Wen of Wei is included in stead of Reply to Fan Qin of Emperor Wen and comparing the latter with another included work of Cao Pi the same emperor-Letter to Wu Zhi, it can be seen that works rich in refined scholarly sentiment, beautiful but not boastful in style and using classic allusions instead of hearsay are preferred by Xiao Tong the compiler.

On the Rewriting Mechanism of Keep the Red Flag Flying by Liang Bin
    WANG Xueli
    2022, 37(4):  45-54.
    Abstract ( 18 )   PDF (1685KB) ( 8 )
Rewriting of literary works is an important part of text research and behind every new edition lie complex mechanism factors. This is especially true for Keep the Red Flag Flying, a novel by Liang Bin, the edition changes of which represent the changes of themes from individual to class and from compromise to confrontation as the novelist strives to construct a family-country community featuring individual-family (clan)-class-Chinese nation. The author’s rewriting efforts represent his view of historic narrative and his love for both family and motherland. A tendency of over-beautification, flattery and even vulgarity, however, surfaces in his rewriting process that undermines the artistic quality and classic standing of his work.

    Abstract ( 22 )   PDF (1621KB) ( 5 )
Based on the sincere ambition of “doing our best to the country and society”, Xiong Xiling made a wide range of disaster relief and charity efforts including education security, medical security, old-age security, employment security, funeral security, social relief and many other social welfare matters. This comprehensively reflects his social welfare ideas. Among them, the idea of disaster relief, which combines relief with prevention to cure both the symptoms and root causes, is the continuation and development of the traditional social relief idea while the charity education concept of “equal emphasis on upbringing” takes into account the daily livelihood and long-term development of orphaned and poor children. Imbedding and Integration: On the Path to Enhance Influence of the Chinese Culture under the “One Belt One Road” Proposal-From the Perspective of Chinese-invested Multi-national Enterprises
    DU Liuxiao, ZHANG Qianming
    2022, 37(4):  84-89.
    Abstract ( 16 )   PDF (1647KB) ( 6 )
Under the “One Belt One Road” proposal, increasingly enhancing influence of the Chinese culture is of great significance as it can help strengthen cultural exchange and overcome cultural barriers. As a part of the “going out” program, the Chinese-invested multi-national enterprises begin promoting imbedding, integration and development of sport culture, food culture and we-medium culture upon their landing in the countries and regions along the Road and the Belt. This helps showing your friendly image, improving your soft cultural strength, consolidating the mutual-trust basis and boosting community construction. Imbedding of sport events provides organizational basis for cultural and international exchange, that of food culture with the principle of “food as the people’s cardinal need” strengthens the basis for communication, while that of we media shortens the psychological distance between the people by means of information technology. Practice tells us that the path should be further optimized if the width and depth of involvement of Chinese enterprises in cultural exchange with the outside world are to be expanded to enhance influence of the Chinese culture. Furthermore, by making sport culture imbedding better organized, food culture imbedding more experience-friendly and we-medium imbedding more diversified, exchange of the Chinese culture with the outside world can be further improved to boost construction of the “One Belt One Road” program to provide better services to the construction of the community of common destiny for all mankind.

    Abstract ( 18 )   PDF (2026KB) ( 9 )
Education provides the fundamental solution to intergenerational transmission of poverty, or even terminates poverty itself.. General Secretary Xi Jinping's important discussion on poverty alleviation through education provides the theoretical basis and action guide for China to win the tough battle against poverty in the new era. Citespace and Vosviewer are used to make visual analysis of Xi Jinping's important discussion on poverty alleviation through education. It is found that the number of annual papers is on the rise, but authors and institutions engaging in its research have not yet formed a cooperative community, and the leading role of core journals still needs to be improved. The research focuses on the formation logic, scientific connotation, theoretical characteristics and value implication of Xi Jinping's important discussion on poverty alleviation through education. The current research has weak links in content, perspective and methods, so future research should 1) cultivate the fertile soil of theoretical research to build a systematic and integrated research system; 2) pay attention to expand the research horizon to reflect the research quality with the times; and 3) pay attention to multiple research paradigms to highlight the combination of theory and practice research consciousness.

The Practice Form and Conditions Guarantee of “Talent Cultivation through Research” in National Southwest Associated University and Their Contemporary Significance
    SHI Yaowei
    2022, 37(4):  132-141.
    Abstract ( 16 )   PDF (1647KB) ( 12 )
Despite the harsh environment of war and poor material supply, both the faculty and the students of National Southwest Associated University (NSAU, 1937-1946) accomplished teaching objectives through inquiry-based classroom teaching, academic research led extra-curricular exchanges,"joint-travel" academic practice, and unperceivable immersion of academic atmosphere to stun the world with great academic achievements and emergence of outstanding scholars and scientists. The firm belief to save motherland through education, a resourceful teaching faculty, full commitment of both the teachers and the students, and the comparatively free teaching mode were among the reasons underlying the successful practice of “talent cultivation through research” of NSAU. Although it may not be possible to sum up some universally practical formula for today, the “talent cultivation through research” practice of NSAU gives us the following revelation: the talent cultivation through research program should be practiced by means of a number of methods, such as examples of the teachers and immersion of an appropriate atmosphere; and weight of too much material benefits should be lifted from evaluation of academic research to encourage both the faculty and the students to devote themselves to research.
