Abstract: In his career of literary creation, Yang Yang has always adhered to the literary concept of being sincere and pragmatic. He is excellent at combining cultural studies with fieldwork and has achieved fruitful results in both prose and fiction. As an important participant in the "New Prose” writing, his works display profound cultural attainment and exploration efforts in styles. By combining magic and poetry elements, his novels examines deep in humanity to call for true, kind and beautiful human nature and have thus attracted the attention of the literary world. From the perspective of literary geography, Yang Yang has the ability of discovering and filling in the blanks. With his literary coordinates firmly rooted in southern Yunnan and his works showing distinctive geographical characteristics, he has added colors to the Chinese literary world in general and gained his position in Yunnan literature.
