Abstract: Parents are the first teachers of their children, so their ideas are really important. As a matter of fact, sound childcare ideas of parents have positive influence on future growth of the children. The author conducted in-depth on-site questionnaire survey in the rural areas of County C in south Yunnan on childcare ideas of parents with pre-school children. After analyzing the survey results, the author first identifies mistakes with these parents, then proceeds to suggest countermeasures aiming at eliminating their mistaken ideas. The author hopes that the society, the kindergartens and the parents can reach agreement in childcare ideas so as to jointly lay a solid foundation for the children to grow up healthy.
