Abstract: As the largest border trade port and the second largest import-export port on the Sino-Burmese border, Qingshuihe, Mengding Township can play an important role in the “5-communication” program with Burma. Characteristics of Qingshuihe Port include: prosperous trade between people of both countries, newly-established brand-name tourist programs, rapid import and export growth, and wide friendly exchanges. To serve the needs of construction of Sino-Burmese commonwealth with a shared future, the following suggestions are made regarding development of Qingshuihe Port: speeding up construction of the highway from Lincang to Qingshuihe; promoting construction of a railway between these two places; speeding up construction of highway and railway networks connecting China and Burma to the Indian Ocean; continuously enhancing port clearance capability; and speeding up construction of comprehensive customs designated supervision facilities.
