Abstract: The Report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) points out that “we will deeply implement the research and construction project of Marxist theory, accelerate the construction of the discipline system, academic system, and discourse system of philosophy and social sciences with Chinese characteristics, and cultivate and strengthen the talent team of philosophy and social sciences.” This remark points out the direction for China to comprehensively improve the level of research on Marxist theory and build the discipline system of Marxist theory in the new era. To do so, it is necessary to follow the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress as a guide, conduct in-depth research and explore the theoretical essence contained therein: 1) adhering to disciplinary guidance to build a high-level discipline system of Marxist theory; 2) adhering to education as the foundation to build a high-standard ideological and political curriculum group; and 3) keeping pace with the times when exploring the integration mechanism of Chinese-style modernization into ideological and political courses.
