Abstract: Originating from the Daba Sutra, Mosuo folk literature plays an important role in the spiritual life of the Mosuo people. Of all their myths, the folk deluge myth, which came from the genesis myth in the Daba Sutra, is the most representative. It is of great significance, through analyzing the transformation process and the differences of the two, to explore views of the Mosuo ancestors about formation of the universe, origin of mankind, imagination and conception of laws of the nature, their traditional ideas regarding love, marriage, ecology embodied by the text, and the cultural value of their sense of community for the Chinese nation.
