Abstract: In response to the national curriculum ideological and political education construction, and to address the main pain points of ideological and political education in the course Introduction to New Energy under the new engineering discipline, research is conducted on the reform and innovative practice of ideological and political education in the course. Starting from the cultivation of awareness of curriculum ideological and political education, by sorting out the moral, quality and ability requirements for student education, this research aims at determining the ideological and political goals of the curriculum, deeply exploring the ideological and political elements of the course, and searching for the integration points of ideological and political education. Through multiple links such as case teaching, seminar teaching, and project-based teaching, the ideological and political education reform of the curriculum is implemented from the aspects of updating the curriculum teaching outline, constructing the curriculum ideological and political education resource library, classroom teaching, and integrating the curriculum ideological and political education assessment. Practice has shown that through the reform and innovative practice of ideological and political education in the course Introduction to New Energy, the students can effectively cultivate their sense of responsibility and national pride and start to think about issues such as resource views, environmental views, values, and outlook on life.
