Abstract: The old local chronicles of Fujian Province record a total of 308 doctors in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), showing the writing mode of ethics of medical origin, magical deeds of medical technology and Confucianism of medical ethics. Local chronicles transform the image of the same doctor and change the theme narrative through adding, deleting or changing the categories. Since the 14th century, the writing of medical biographies in local chronicles has basically followed the path of Confucianism and Immortalism, which determine that most of the medical biographies should selectively ignore the basic characteristics of medicine while emphasizing on the virtues and magic of physicians rather than on the technical characteristics.
