On Connotation Construction of Center for Teachers Teaching and Learning Development of Universities in the New Era

Abstract: Higher education of China has entered a new stage characterized by pursuit for innovation and higher quality, aiming at offering quality university education, enhancing talent cultivation ability in an all-round manner and building first-class universities in the world, which presents new challenges to university teachers. As an important platform and lever for cultivation of university teachers, centers for teachers teaching and learning development can play an important role in construction of the teaching faculty. In the New Era, role of such centers in the connotation construction in universities increasingly rises. It is imperative that the connotation construction of these centers be strengthened from four dimensions - institutional nature, service functionality, service object and service mode - to promote construction of teaching faculty of great professional quality.
