Abstract: Construction of the development community of BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) is an answer to the demand for new development concepts and mechanisms in the post-epidemic era that complies with the pursuit for interest of development of the five countries involved and provides momentum to joint construction of community of common destiny for all mankind under the new situation. To develop the BRICS development community, three basic concepts should be adhered to - equal development, just interest and shared development - and major contents of this effort include solving the current problems facing development, creating development conditions and enhancing long-term development capacity. At present, multi-dimensional BRICS⁺ cooperation modes, multi-level strategic docking architecture, sound trade and commerce cooperation bases, and flexible development cooperation mechanism can provide practical bases for this program. Based on realities and demands for development of BRICS, efforts can be made to do a profound, solid, stable and far-reaching job in constructing the development community of the five countries in the following aspects: revival, poverty alleviation, digital economy, cooperation in investment and funding, as well as green and low-carbon development.
