An Analysis of the Idea of Soul of the Pula Clan of the Yi People of Beige Township

Abstract: The belief in the existence of soul is common to all human beings and the notion that soul survives physical being is the foundation of the religious beliefs of the Yi people. Although as a clan of the Yi, the Pula share many of their ideas regarding soul, theirs have their own clan characteristics due to their unique geographical surroundings, social development, history and culture. The most striking characteristics include origin, form and final destination of soul.
