Abstract: The image practice of ideological and political education plays an important role in spreading values and carrying the content of ideological and political education by virtue of "meaning through pictures", "story by pictures" and "narration with behavior.” As an important method of the Communist Party of China (CPC) for ideological education, political encouragement and rally of the masses to carry on the war of resistance against Japanese aggression during the Yan'an period, it was the call of the times and realistic requirements as it was effective in portraying the people, close to the people in content and inspiring to the people in form. It was not only the innovation and development of traditional image practice of the CPC from standpoint, content and form, but will also have important enlightenment for the image practice of ideological and political education of the Party in the New Era.
