Abstract: Due to continuous influence of the whole society, college students face increasingly serious employment difficulties. This paper, through investigating and analyzing employment difficulties of impoverished students in local universities of Yunnan, expects to present the modes, and the contributory factors of needy students' employment difficulties in frontier areas under the current social background. It is found that the reasons contributing to poor students' difficulties in finding jobs include shortage of employment capital, conservative employment concept of the students and their parents, and the scarcity of employment opportunities, which lead to the relatively prominent problem of slow employment and non-employment. Solving the problem mentioned above is a critical part of the Rural-revitalization Strategy and the connotation development of higher education in frontier areas. It requires that, therefore, joint efforts from all social sectors to search for a cooperative solution to the problem.
