    WANG Chunxia
    2020, 35(5):  1-6.
    Abstract ( 38 )   PDF (2024KB) ( 15 )
The affinity of ideological and political education is a power system produced by the interaction of various elements in the process of ideological and political education. The source of this “power” lies in the penetrating power of ideological and political education discourse, the conquering power of the personality of ideological and political educators and the enlightening power of the rationality of ideological and political education. Based on this, to improve the affinity of ideological and political education, we must focus on innovating the expression of words, showing the affinity of ideological and political education, reshaping the image of the main body of education, improving the identity of ideological and political education, optimizing the supply of content, and strengthening the sense of acquisition of ideological and political education.

    ZHENG Nan, WANG Qianqian
    2020, 35(5):  21-26.
    Abstract ( 54 )   PDF (2036KB) ( 19 )
The Man-Han feast has always been regarded as the culmination of the Chinese food culture and a synthesis of pan-Chinese dishes, but its development was not accomplished overnight. Broken down, it is simply a combination of the cuisine of the Han and the Man peoples. It is widely but mistakenly regarded as the imperial cuisine of the Qing Dynasty, to which its formation was indeed closely related though. Departing from structure of the Han cuisine and the Man cuisine, this paper analyzes the relation of the Man-Han Feast with the Qing Imperial Feast, so as to explore its real underlying cultural composition.

By respecting the monarch, Su Zhe emphasizes the identity of the emperor as the sole sovereign and declares his opposition to usurping the throne, killing the monarch and other disloyal acts. By caring for the people, Su Zhe proposes his theory of relativity of monarchical power and the idea of people first. Investigation and Comparative Study on Demonstrative Category of the Lisu Language in Lanping
LI Yinping, CHEN Haihong, HU Cui
    2020, 35(5):  51-58.
    Abstract ( 19 )   PDF (2102KB) ( 20 )
:This paper mainly explores the Lisu language of Lanping and contrasts it with that of Fugong and Luquan. According to the research, the Lisu language in Lanping can be divided into two categories: 1) one with obvious demonstrative marks or fixed forms in the sentence, such as the determination of demonstrative marks and quotes in the proposed rumor; and 2) one without obvious demonstrative marks or auxiliary words in the sentence that should be distinguished by the context. The grammaticalization of the Lisu language in Lanping is mainly a one-way linear evolution process from the substantive word to the semi-virtual word and then to the functional word. Moreover, the evolution of lexical items and phrases is justified and motivated. In addition, the comparative study finds that the diversity of the presentation system of the Lisu language is related to the richness of the false words in the Lisu language that is proportional to the diversity of the presentation system of the Lisu language.

Calligraphy for Politics: Calligraphy Education of the Yuan Emperors and Its Political Function
    ZHAO Liguang
    2020, 35(5):  59-65.
    Abstract ( 23 )   PDF (2081KB) ( 15 )
Calligraphy education for the Yuan emperors was a supplement to their imperial court education called jingyan, a formerly subordinate education form in language, literature and history that later became independent. This was especially true when two dedicated organs - Kuizhang Ge and Xuanwen Ge - were established to mark the completion of the Yuan imperial calligraphy education system. While sinicizing themselves, the Mongolian rulers aimed at utilizing the political function of calligraphy to consolidate their authority.

Dong Qichang and the Frequent Resignation of Officials in the Late Ming Dynasty
    XU Chunguang
    2020, 35(5):  66-72.
    Abstract ( 20 )   PDF (2082KB) ( 4 )
Dong Qichang resigned office as many as 17 times in his lifetime, sometimes even defying imperial appointments of local magistrates. This example was not isolated, instead it reflected the frequent resignation of officials and even their refusal of imperial orders in the late Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) when the normal resignation system had been reduced to a form of political wrestling. For Dong himself, however, resignation was not necessarily a misfortune. By resigning, he eluded the fate of becoming the price paid in factional struggles on the one hand, and demonstrated his personality of caring more about painting than politics on the other. More importantly, becoming a recluse gave him plenty of time to devote to calligraphy and painting, making him a prominent, prolific artist. Moreover, Dong’s repeated resignation attempts could also be viewed as a result of the poor remuneration to the officials at that time and the fact that an official with masterly skills, impeccable reputation and a connoisseur's eyes could earn much more by writing, painting and trading works of art. Viewed from this perspective, the large number of officials who returned to their hometowns after resignation arguably boosted local economy in the late Ming Dynasty although this economic phenomenon could be attributed to development of market economy in the larger picture.

An Elementary Analysis of the Reform of the Tang and Song Dynasties on Calligraphy of the Song Dynasties
    LIU Xingzhen
    2020, 35(5):  73-77.
    Abstract ( 29 )   PDF (2020KB) ( 11 )
The cultural transition brought about by the historical reform in the Tang (618-907) and Song (960-1279) Dynasties was also felt by calligraphy. In the Tang Dynasty, officials were selected according to four criteria-behavior, argument, calligraphy and judgment-that emphasized the importance of calligraphy. In the Song Dynasties, calligraphy was no longer listed as a requirement for officialdom, which, in addition to the official practice of third-person copying of imperial examination papers, resulted in devaluation of calligraphy among the intellectuals. This explained why the overall standard of regular script was reduced to a lower level in the Song Dynasties. Meanwhile, the Confucian school of philosophy that appeared in the mid-Tang Dynasty, took shape in the Northern Song Dynasty and matured in the Southern Song Dynasty worked with the cultural transition mentioned above shed great impact on calligraphy of the Song Dynasties. Intellectual of the Song Dynasties enjoyed higher social status than their Tang counterparts and, influenced by the fledgling folk culture, began to advocate notions like “conception”,“implication”and“learning”and thus gradually became the leading force of calligraphy.

Existence Form: Another Dimension to Observe Mythology
    GAO Zhiming
    2020, 35(5):  78-85.
    Abstract ( 19 )   PDF (2078KB) ( 3 )
In Chinese context, meanings of “existence form” can include instant static form of things as well as their possible dynamic development, and can thus reflect their comprehensive characteristics. Based on existence forms, myths can be classified into written myths, oral myths, ritual myths, image myths, performance myths, digital myths, etc. These classifications are related to each other and, at the same time, distinct from each other. With definitions, they can include all forms of myths in the contemporary context. While expanding myth classification system and increasing myth research dimensions, this classification method is of great significance in demonstrating nowness of mythology as an academic discipline, ensuring diversity of objects of research of mythology and promoting research methods of mythology.

On Protection and Inheritance of the Orally-transmitted Folk Tradition of the Nu People
    LIU Wei, QIAO Wen

    Abstract ( 16 )   PDF (2028KB) ( 3 )
With only a limited population, the Nu are a people who have had not written language for a long time. So their orally-transmitted tradition serves as a living fossil to record and inherit their history, custom, culture and values and is thus of high value, in terms of both social significance and historical research. It is, therefore, beneficial to preservation of China’s cultural diversity by emphasizing its protection to stimulate confidence and pride in the Nu people for their own traditional culture.

An Elementary Analysis of Development of Industry of the Culture of The Classic of Mountain and Sea in Recent 20 Years: Taking Books, TV, Movies and Video Games as Examples
    LIANG Ke, XING Linlin
    2020, 35(5):  92-101.
    Abstract ( 71 )   PDF (2277KB) ( 21 )
“Industry of the culture of The Classic of Mountain and Sea” as a concept was first used by scholars around the year 2000, but its industrialization wave in diversity did not surge until 2010 when books, TV programs, movies and video games based on the classic increased sharply in quantity compared with those in the first decade of the 21st century. Rich in characters, deity or demon, but poor in narration makes it a favorite source for commercializable products. Among the aforementioned industries, hard publication plays a fundamental function in both characterization and narration. Popularity of The Classic of Mountain and Sea is currently a prominent cultural phenomenon, but many problems regarding its industrialization are equally prominent that deserve closer attention from the publishers, producers and developers.

Translation of Farewell Poems: Soil Erosion and Cultural Reconstruction- Reading Bassnett’s “Transplanting the Seed: Poetry and Translation”
    YANG Wanbin
    2020, 35(5):  102-118.
    Abstract ( 53 )   PDF (2182KB) ( 9 )
Farewell poem is an important genre of classical Chinese poetry of unique cultural and aesthetic appeal and its translation into English is of great value. After a cross-cultural study of farewell poems in the light of both the English and Chinese language-culture systems, the author first argues that farewell poems have become an endangered species due to soil erosion - lack of “an enabling target language” and a receiving social cultural context. Then he proceeds to analyze this intercultural phenomenon from a number of perspectives before finally suggesting cultural reconstruction as a solution. The author contends that farewell poems have been culturalized in history but have now been deculturalized due to advances of human civilization, so they require reculturalization to be properly translated, so that they can have “a textual homeland” to grow and multiply.

    SUN Hongqiong
    2020, 35(5):  119-124.
    Abstract ( 29 )   PDF (2227KB) ( 4 )
The Chinese have been valuing the part of family education in the well-being of the individuality. Like the Chinese old proverb goes, the foundation of the world lies in family. Harmonious parent-child relationship is beneficial for both developing personality and cultivating child’s well-being. What’s more, good parenthood would be the main cause for children to take a variety of learning methods, which definitely leads to children’s better academic achievement at school. Family writing community was primarily designed on American expert Brown’s parental involvement formula, English wiring process, and criteria of English writing. It provides connotation, functions, and the specific involving process in terms of parental involvement in China. Parents learn and make progress with children in English writing. As a result, parent-child relationship has been steadily developed in the process of parental involvement. Learning society in China would be achieved as long as the amount of harmonious learning family is increasing.

New Evidence on Interactions of Tao Xigao and Tao Ting with Tao Gong - All Disciples of Philosopher Wang Yangming (Ⅰ)
    ZHU Heshuang, CAO Xiaohong
    2020, 35(5):  125-143.
    Abstract ( 16 )   PDF (4014KB) ( 6 )
Huangyan, Zhejiang Province was the hometown of Tao Zongyi, a renowned writer and historian of the late 14th century. About two centuries later his descendants were sent to military exile in Yao’an Prefecture, Yunnan Province by the Ming government. Nurtured by their family tradition of success in the imperial examinations for promotion to officialdom, Tao Xigao, Tao Ting and Tao Gong - disciples of the 16th-century philosopher Wang Yangming (represented by Luo Rufang and Li Zaizhi) -eventually changed the academic scenario of Yunnan, with achievements in elementary schooling, Zen and calligraphy in particular, in late Ming Dynasty at the turn of the 17th century. Meanings of their pseudonyms, however, revealed their frustration and despair of living their helpless lives in the forlorn frontier regions, explaining their hope of freeing themselves from the limitation of their “family heartland blood” with the help of Jing Shan Zang.

Textual Reserach on Yinsheng Prefecture (Ⅰ)
    JIE Shunbao, YANG Qiuli
    2020, 35(5):  144-154.
    Abstract ( 20 )   PDF (2199KB) ( 3 )
In historical records of the Yuan Dynasty (1279-1368), information concerning whereabouts of Yinsheng Prefecture (jiedu) during the periods of the Nanzhao (738-902) and Dali (937-1253) kingdoms and its relationship with Kainan Prefecture is unclear. The region of Kainan Prefecture is often referred to as Yinsheng Prefecture and Kainan itself has virtually disappeared, a phenomenon that has survived history. As a matter of fact, both Kainan and Yinsheng prefectures existed, simultaneously but exercising jurisdiction over different areas. Then how did it come that Kainan Prefecture disappeared? It was the result of a decision made by the Dali Kingdom, on its wane, to move Yinsheng Prefecture to the region of Kainan Prefecture under pressure of the northward-advancing Dai people. According to some records, Yinsha Luodian was actually Yinsheng Prefecture (called fu at that time) in the Tang Dynasty (618-907) but later adopted a Dai name due to the eastward expansion of Si Kefa in late Yuan Dynasty, so people of the two following dynasties (Ming and Qing, 1368-1911) had no idea where it had been. That's why information about these two prefectures in question became unclear. Clarification of the historical evolution mentioned above of these two prefectures - Kainan and Yinsheng can tell us what and where they truly were and such an understanding can be of great significance to research of history, both that of Dali and other local historical identities.
